I've collected what I've found so far, on my Yandex drive. That leaves the following 13 IWD2 portraits for which I haven't found a higher-resolution version yet: The old gallery on Justin Sweet's website, which is no longer linked from the main page but still online, additionally has higher-resolution versions of the following two (although not quite at IWD:EE size): When you buy IWD2 from GOG.com, you get an "Artworks" bonus download which additionally has IWD:EE resolution versions of these 3: (Two of these are also available in my IWD:EE style portraits collection, though cropped a little differently than they were in IWD2.)īeamdog's IWD:EE press page additionally has a super high-res version of this one: The website of Justin Sweet (the artist who painted them) has hi-res (but not completely cropped/post-processed) versions of these 5: The following 6 first appeared in IWD2, but IWD:EE has higher-resolution versions of them anyway: IWD:EE has higher-resolution versions of them (like the example shown in the table above). The following 53 were the original IWD1 portraits, and IWD2 simply copied them over. Luckily, higher-resolution versions for some of the IWD2 portraits are available from various sources: If you were to take the IWD2 side-bar version and use it as an IWD:EE portrait, it would look distorted and blurry like this: The right column shows the IWD:EE version, at the size at which it is rendered in-game when playing at 1920x1080 resolution with UI scaling enabled: The left column shows the highest available resolution of the IWD2 version (extracted from the data files as shown above). The side-bar version, in particular, are too small (and the wrong aspect ratio) to use them in Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition.įor example, here's one of the portraits that are included in both IWD2 and IWD:EE. However, note that their resolution is pretty small. The portraits are baked into the game data archives, but they can be extracted using Near Infinity: I install old version of ID 2 on computer, but there aren't any files.
